Trustee with lived experience of brain injury
A vacancy has arisen for a trustee with lived experience of brain injury to join Headway Central Lancashire’s board of trustees.
The position is a voluntary one although expenses can be claimed, and anyone who is interested should write in expressing an interest.
The role of a trustee is an important one and involves making decisions about the charity’s legal responsibilities, operational and future plans, and supporting the current manager to lead the charity and continue its development as one of the leading charities in central Lancashire.
Issues which are decided upon at meetings include staffing and pay, planning and service delivery, funding and budgeting, premises, policy, and investment.
The role involves meeting every 2 months either in person or remotely. At meetings you will read reports and make decisions based on the public benefit of HWCL services. There will also be events to attend from time to time such as community drops ins, fundraising and partnership events.
You don’t need to be qualified in any particular area of work and training and guidance will be given. There are some legal requirements of being a trustee that are needed such as being a fit and proper person and you can read more about that here The essential trustee: what you need to know, what you need to do – GOV.UK
To express an interest please email the Manager of Headway Central Lancashire Liz Bamber: liz@headwaycentrallancashire.org.uk
