Covid-19 – Information for Clients
The safety and wellbeing of our clients, volunteers and staff is our priority and we will take all necessary precautions to ensure their continued welfare. As with many public services we are temporarily forced to work remotely and we are following the guidelines of Public Health England.
In light of the uncertainty that we are all facing in our everyday lives due to the outbreak of Covid-19. It is with heavy hearts that we have made the decision to cancel our sessions on a temporary basis in the interest of keeping you and our staff safe.
The Headway Preston and Chorley office at the Heartbeat Centre Is open on a part time basis and we can offer appointments by prior arrangement.
Our Café and Exercise classes, Drop In and Activity Days have been temporarily cancelled and community sessions at the Salvation Army in Preston are also cancelled until further notice.
If you have been to an area that has been directly affected by the coronavirus AND if you are showing symptoms similar to those associated with the virus (for example: fever, cough, breathlessness), we please politely ask that you do not visit us and instead log on to the NHS111 web site or call NHS 111 for further advice and instruction.
For further information, please refer and adhere to the advice given by Public Health England.
During this time we are checking on our clients to make sure they are well and know what to do if they get any symptoms.

There are simple things you can do to help prevent the spread of the virus, including:
- Covering your mouth and nose with a tissue or your sleeve (not your hands) when you cough or sneeze
- Putting used tissues in the bin immediately
- Washing your hands with soap and hot water regularly
- Avoid contact with people who are unwell
- Practice social distancing (keeping 2 metres apart).
- Avoiding touching your eyes, nose or mouth if your hands are not clean
