This year’s Eric Kitchen award has been presented to Headway Trustee and Volunteer, Chris Carthy.
The Eric Kitchen award was started in 2017 in memory of benefactor and author, Eric Kitchen and is made for long standing commitment to charity and outstanding personal development.
Chris has been involved with Headway since 2010 and she is more than aware of the difference Headway brings to the lives of many. Her hard work has enabled us to continue our services to those who have been really struggling and more so over the Covid-19 lockdown.
Presenting the award, Laura Brown Assistant Manager said, ‘Chris, you have been a trustee and volunteer since 2010. A big mention goes to your involvement in the Keeping In touch Project. I can’t think of anybody else who would be able to adapt to the new position as you have Chris. On behalf of the staff and Trustees we are delighted to present the Eric Kitchen 2021 award to you and we are so grateful for your commitment and passion for Headway Central Lancashire..’
Chris said, ‘I was amazed and happy to be acknowledged in this way it was a complete surprise and I was very moved. I have loved every minute of being involved with Headway Central Lancashire and feel privileged to be able to help others after acquired brain injury’.
